Artist Statement

I believe that one purpose of art and the artist is to explore and reveal alternate realities. Photography's intrinsic nature perpetuates the perception of realism in the eye and the mind, yet is an illusion that is capable of revealing much more. In my work, I explore aspects of this fascinating duality challenging the viewer and myself to examine them as well as our relationships to reality. I choose to use innovative photographic processes such as hand-altering Polaroid SX-70 and Polarcolor films to achieve this purpose. Please visit my web site to see a full range of my work.
