Artist Statement

These are transparent watercolor paintings expressing my passion for the botanical lushness that surrounds me, using the white of the paper for the white in the composition and building up strong vibrant colors with mulitiple layers of transparent pigments of different colors which are visible through the layers.  Strong line, contrasting values and colors are used to create abstract rhythmic patterns withing a representational image.  All materials are conservation quality.
