Artist Statement

As a Textile Design major, I've always been intrigued by the texture of things. For a number of years I've worked in mixed-media creating designs from fabric, paper, leather, beads, etc., and exhibiting them in the Mid-west and South-west. In 2004 I began painting again. I overlay my acrylic paintings with borders and decorative elements in both iridescent and metallic paints. I create and hand-cut the templates I use in the repeat patterns and accents. I think you'll see my textile design background, as the paintings are like tapestries executed in paint.
