Emerging Artist Program

The Guild’s Emerging Artist program acts as a catalyst to launch emerging artists’ visual arts careers. Through a series of workshops, The Guild’s Emerging Artist Program, geared to artists who have little to no experience with exhibiting their work at Art Fairs, teaches them: how to apply for art fairs; how to price their work; tools/technology necessary for a great display, marketing their work, and selling their work; how to prepare for shows of various sizes, necessary inventory, packaging; and more! Guild artist members provide mentorship and instruction at each of these workshops.

After engaging in the workshops, Emerging Artists can jury for the chance to participate with the Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair, sharing a 10×20 tent to display and sell their work to the 450,000+ attendees. Additionally, there are other possible chances to participate in other Guild fairs as well.

Each year this experience lays the foundation for these artists to launch their careers within the art fair realm. It also gives them general resources, information, and connections that will enable them to become active citizens, community leaders and effective workers no matter where their career takes them. 2018 Emerging Artist, Yazmin Dababneh, said of the program: “I just wanted to personally thank everyone at The Guild for this wonderful opportunity! I learned a lot and feel as though it was a great experience and jump start to my career as an artist.”
